Two lucky customers of Rwanda’s largest network in terms of subscribers, Airtel-Tigo won RwF 20,000,000 in the Yora Kashi promotion that has been going on for three months.
The Airtel-Tigo subscribers Ngayabanguha Jean Bosco, a tea picker in Rulindo and Iradukunda Ornella, a resident of Kicukiro, each walked away with RwF 10,000,000 in the Yora Kashi grand finale.

Speaking during the grand finale press conference at the Airtel-Tigo offices in Remera, Amit Chawla, the telecom’s Managing Director said that the promotion was one of the ways of Airtel-Tigo showing appreciation for its subscribers.
This was the first promotion that took the prizes to the winners,
something that the communities we visited found exciting to see their neighbors
and friends win.
One can confidently say that Yora Kashi turned out to be the most exciting in Rwanda and we look forward to bringing other initiatives that will excite the whole country in the near future.
Airtel Tigo launched the promotion to give its subscribers a chance to win up to Rwf 1 million daily, Rwf 2 million weekly and a grand prize of Rwf 20 million.
The promo saw 180 customers win daily prizes of 500,000 RWF, 24 customers winning 1,000,000 as weekly prizes as well as the special prize of 20 customers winning the left over cash in the Red Cash Box machine.
Commenting after winning Rwf 10,000,000, an excited Ngayabanguha Jean Bosco said; “I cannot believe my luck. I used to play but I was not winning. When I got a call that I was a lucky winner, I did not believe I had won all that money. This money is going to help me start my own business. I am grateful for Airtel for having made this possible for me.”
The winners were randomly selected live on the national TV (TVR) every day at 7pm in addition to roadshows all around the country where they get to enter a cash box and pick as much money as they can in a limited time frame.
“We are committed to not only ensuring our subscribers enjoy the best of services but also be rewarded in the process. Through this new campaign, we invested RwF 300,000,000 to give back to our subscribers. We have so much more for them and we shall continue doing this even in the coming years,” said Amit Chawla.
